We Make the Impossible Real.

208 Monkeys VFX is where the “how did they do that?” moments happen, usually without anyone noticing, which is the whole point.

We deliver premium visual effects for film, TV, and advertising with a clean, cinematic finish and a producer’s obsession with the details that audiences feel even when they don’t consciously see them.

Our team has contributed work for Lionsgate, Hallmark, and Patriot Pictures, including titles like Ballers, Almost Popular and Which Brings Me To You.

We bring that same level of polish to every frame, whether it’s a quick rescue or a full invisible rebuild.

Frequently Asked Questions

When should we involve a VFX studio or VFX supervisor?

As early as possible—pre-production. If you think you’ll need VFX, a screen replacement, wire/rig removal, or anything that doesn’t exist in reality, get us involved before you shoot. A VFX supervisor (or even a paid consultation to review your script and shot plan) can save you serious time and money by preventing those infamous “we’ll fix it in post” moments.

What types of VFX work do you handle most often?

A lot of what we do is high-value, invisible VFX: object removal, set extensions, screen replacements, roto/paint, wire/rig cleanup, tracking/matchmove, keying, and compositing. We also handle beauty work, clean plates, and CG integration when it’s the right tool for the shot.

Can you work with indie budgets and tight schedules without sacrificing quality?

Yes. We’re built for producer reality: clear scope, predictable deliverables, and a pipeline that’s optimized for fast turnarounds and clean finishes. We’ll tell you what’s achievable, what’s not, and how to get the best result for your budget.

What do you need from us to bid accurately?

The fastest path is: the shot list (or scene breakdown), reference clips, the current edit or storyboards, resolution/frame rate, and how many shots need work. If you’re still in prep, we can estimate based on the script and planned shots. We can always refine once the footage is available.

How does your process work once we start?

We keep it simple and professional: kickoff + references, organized turnovers, clear versioning, and review rounds with notes. You’ll get WIPs for approval, then finals delivered in the formats you need (ProRes, EXR sequences, etc.). Our goal is easy: make the shot look like it was always supposed to be that way.
